About Zipporah

Zipporah Robinson has been a musician for over 30 years and a music educator for over a decade. Her musical life began at a young age, with her primary instrument being her voice. Although primarily a vocalist, Zipporah has studied piano, saxophone, and violin over a 30-year period. As a teenager, she was a music major at Curie High School and also studied at Merit School of Music and Sherwood Conservatory of Music. She would continue her studies in her adult years at Northeastern Illinois University and Moraine Valley Community College.
Although she primarily specializes in powerful ballads, Zipporah has broadened her vocal range and style to include opera and musical theater with training from her vocal coach, international opera singer Anna Siwiec-Sitkowska. Zipporah has performed in various venues and events.
Zipporah has been teaching for 20 years. During her private coaching sessions, Zipporah noticed a significant number of adults taking lessons as a means of stress relief from family, work, and trauma-related pressures. She also noticed children who took lessons having anxiety over performing or children with behavioral issues being forced to take music lessons. Therefore, she embarked on a personal journey that discovered the profound connection between music and overall emotional regulation. She would begin her training in trauma, mental health, and foundations of neurodivergency and its impact on the neurological, physiological, psychological, and social systems. Without stepping into a therapist role, she can now help clients who experience trauma and other emotional challenges to use music as a part of their emotional regulation. She also found that adult clients and parents were willing to pay premium prices to receive such services.
In her free time, Zipporah likes to research learning and retention methods. She currently speaks Spanish, and Portuguese, and is currently learning Chinese. She also reads French, Romanian, and Italian. Zipporah has a background in linguistic and dialectal studies.
